Benchtop system assisting research into nanofluidics
At the University of Bath, within the department of Chemical Engineering there has been research in the area of nanofluidics, where it is focused on the fundamental understanding of static and dynamic behaviour of liquids under nanometre scale confinement.
Hennikers’ Benchtop System is in place to assist with the research into understanding the behaviour of liquids flowing in nanoscale pores. A fundamental step towards understanding the mechanisms governing the behaviour of these fluids is whether the presence of nanoparticles alters the wetting characteristics.
Henniker’s system provides a convenient benchtop laboratory scale solution to alter (increase) the surface energy of the materials of interest, rendering them easily wettable and with subsequently improved flow characteristics.
